North Dakota High School Sports record broken for 33 years

There was a long -term high school sports record that was broken at the weekend.

And another record that was almost broken (it was bound). If you were like me last weekend, you may have the hockey of the high school. The Hockey tournament of the state of North Dakota took place in Grand Forks.

The Hockey team of the Legacy Bismarck High Girls Hockey not only wrote with the winning of their first state title, there were also some very entertaining boy games with subordinates during the games.

Two records of North Dakota High School, which have existed for 33 years, have been broken and almost broken. Both records were held by Bismarck High-Demons, and one of the best-known hockey players who ever knew the state of North Dakota, Mike Peluso.

Mike Peluso is a former Bismarck High Player, a former Bismarck High coach, a college hockey player for Minnesota Duluth and former NHL player for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Philadelphia Flyers.

Peluso's record for most points in a single season in North Dakota passed the test of the time (99 points).

What is just as impressive about Mike Pelusos 99 points in the 1991 and 1992 season is that it was only 23 games (no WDA tournament) and played Peluso when periods were only 15 minutes long.

This season Mike Peluso broke the punctual record, and Bismarck High had a very impressive strength of the schedule. Play teams like Duluth East, Park Cottage Grove (Twin Cities Area) Moorhead and all Fargo teams.

The new scorer ever in one season is Bryce Matter from West Fargo.

He made the record of 53 in 1991-92 by Jeremy Ashiem von Bismarck High, a team-mate of Mike Peluso this season. Matter lit the lamp 58 times this season.

Bryce Matter Band also Bismarck High's long -standing record from Mike Peluso of 99 points, but also played 27 games compared to Pelusos 23.

It is also interesting that Mike Peluso, who still trains various travel teams during his free time, trained matter last autumn. Peluso told me in an SMS message: “I am pleased to share the recording with him, and Matter is a fatal player.”

Bryce Matter has verbally committed to playing College hockey in the state of Arizona.
