MaxPreps National High School Softball Record Book published

Maxpreps is already the source for the national high school record for football, volleyball, basketball and baseball and now adds softball to its list of comprehensive national record books.

The MaxPreps National High School Softball Record Book starts this week with entries for the individual seasonal performances in pitching, beating and baserunning. The categories include pitching victories, strikes, no-grilles, perfect games and in addition to hits, runs, RBI, doubles, triple, Homeruns and Grand slams, as well as walks and stolen bases for Baserunning.

Career and individual game records will publish in the coming weeks together with coaching records, winning people, state championships and various consecutive goals and pitching records.

Due to the high number of games that are played in states such as Alabama, California, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Tennessee and Texas, these states dominate the records in one season. In Alabama, in which some teams play up to 60 games in one season, players have many of the best places in different categories.

The sources for the record book include the record book of the National Federation of State High School Associations, the websites of the State Association, the coaches Association websites and independent record website such as CAL-HI Sports from Mark Tennis. The MaxPreps best lists were also used together with articles from Newspapers.com.

Fortunately, the state associations in Alabama, Arizona, Illinois, Michigan and Nebraska have excellent record books that record the athletes in these countries with deep lists of achievements in numerous categories. The Cal-Hi Sports record is also a valuable independent resource. In the meantime, Oklahoma and Iowa also have extensive record books, although we have not followed a current update for these lists.

States such as Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas have no record books associated with their respective state associations. As a result, there can be a knowledge gap for these states. We tried to close this gap with the Maxpreps best lists together with research on newspapers.com.

The softball record book is a liquid document, and Maxpreps needs the help of all softball coaches (and fans) to maintain its accuracy. Please contact Kevin Askeland at Kevinaskeland65@gmail.com to receive corrections or additions.
