A Grand Jury, who examined Donovon Lynch's death in 2021, recommended that the lawyer Jeff Reichert be examined for meineid.

Virginia Beach, va. – A special prosecutor has accused Jeffrey Reichert of Meineid's lawyer, who arises from his participation in Donovon Lynch.

Lynch was fatally shot by a police officer by Virginia Beach in March 2021, which triggered widespread protests and demanded justice. The city later reached an agreement of 3 million US dollars against the family in an illegal complaint.

Reichert, a lawyer of Wayne Lynch, Donovon's father, was accused of having given several jury statements that were later classified as incompatible with evidence that were collected during the examination of Lynch's death. A Grand Jury, which refused to complain about the officials involved in the shootout, then recommended an investigation of Reichert's statements.

In a letter to Colin Stolle, the Lawyer of the Commonwealth for Virginia Beach, the special prosecutor Masan Green explained his decision not to file an indictment. He came to the conclusion that according to Virginia's law, they did not meet the legal threshold for criminal mness.

Green quoted two reasons: Either the wrong statements were not essential for the case or they were material, but were deceptive due to incompetence or a lack of proper review and not on the basis of the deliberate intention. However, he stated that Reichert's statements showed “ruthlessness and indifference to the truth”.

Reichert denies to have made false statements and has the feeling that the examination was an unfair attack on his character.

“You never insulted me at an end,” said Reichert, who asked the Stolle to publicly announced that no allegations of mine are pursued. “You can throw mud on me, what you want, but can't say that I have not committed myid?”

In a letter to Stolle from Reichert's lawyer, Ibrahim Reyes suggested a general release agreement with the city, which would conclude the dispute and recognize that Reichert had not committed himself. In return, Reichert says that he will agree not to sue the city.

In his letter, Green found that Reichert had asked for a public explanation in which he removed the misconduct to avoid a defamation for defamation, an application that had rejected Green.

Colin Stolle's office has now confirmed 13News that you will receive a notification of Green's decision not to recommend meid.
