Judge Riney Brandt in DC Superior Court supervised a hearing on February 28th because of a non-fatal shooting defendant who accepted a plea deal extended by prosecutors.

The 39-year-old Donte Scott was originally charged with the intention of killing assault, while he took place on May 26, 2024 at the 1800 Block of M Street, NW because of his alleged participation in a non-fatal shootout. The victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

The defender of Scott, Charles Haskell, informed Judge Brandt that Scott had accepted the plea offer from the prosecutor. The terms demand that Scott guilty, with the intention to have a firearm with a previous conviction, to kill, kill and to have it illegally, in return for the prosecutor's charges.

Through the deal, the parties agreed to a 60 -month judgment or a judgment at the end of the convict guidelines, depending on which value is larger.

Judge Brandt accepted the culpable plea because she is waiting for the correct documentation of both parties.

The next hearing is planned for May 2.
