Fire in Manchester, VT leaves 1 dead, 4 injured, says the police, says the police

Manchester, Vt. –

The Manchester police authority has confirmed that a deadly fire has taken a life and sent four more to the hospital.

On Sunday at 11:42 a.m., the Manchester Communications Center received several calls that a fire report on the Upper Road.

Upon arrival, Manchester's fire brigade found one person dead and four injured by the fire. Two people were sent to the hospital in an ambulance, and two more were evacuated in a helicopter, the police said.

Select Board member Jonathan West, shared his condolences in a Facebook post in the Manchester Vermont Community Forum.

“For the family and everyone in our community that are touched by this loss – are our thoughts, support and the deepest sympathy with you. We may come together as neighbors to offer comfort and strength in the coming days.”
