At the beginning of the post -season, below -average tasks were published for all basketball teams in the region.

Lawrence competes in the 6a region 6a on 6a level, while the Free State competes in the 6a vest.

The Lawrence Boys' basketball team (6-14) will appear against Shawnee Mission Northwest (17: 3) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Shawnee Mission Northwest (17: 3).

The Free State Boys No. 9 (8-12) basketball team will also play in their understate bracket on Tuesday. The Firebirds begin on January 25th at 6 p.m. in No. 8 Wichita East (10-10). Wichita East 59-55 defeated a victory. A victory would be the Firebirds against the winner of Campus No. 1 Derby (19-1) and No. 16 Wichita-Haysville (2-18).

No. 13 Lawrence Girls Basketball (9-11) will begin on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the sub-state at No. 4 Olathe West (14-6).

No. 14 Free State Girls Basketball (3-17) begins on Wednesday, March 5, at 7 p.m. in Washburn Rural (14-6), at 7 p.m. at 7 p.m. Washburn Rurau, won the first match between the two teams 76-25 on January 3.. A victory would be the Firebirds against the winner of No. 6 Manhattan (13-7) and No. 11 Mais (5-15).

On the 4A level, the Baldwin-Jungen-Basketball (16-4) No. 4 will organize its sub-state, starting with Bishop Miege (6-14) No. 13 (6-14) at 7 p.m., the winner will compete against No. 5 Coffeyville field Kindley (14-6) or No. 12 Holton (7-13). No. 15 Tonganoxy Boys-Basketball (5-15) will begin on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Rock Creek (18-2) No. 2. A victory for the chiefs would set them against No. 7 Hayden (12-8) or No. 10 independence (9-11). The No. 12 Tonganoxy Girls (10-10) travel to Labette County (16-4) on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

No. 9 Eudora Boys Basketball (10-10) begins on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at No. 8 Parsons (12-8) when the cardinals win, and will compete against the winner of No. 1 Ottawa (20-0) and No. 16 Labette County (4-16). Eudora's girls' basketball team (No. 2, 18-2) begins on Wednesday at 7 p.m. with a win in Louisburg No. 15 (5-15).

No. 4 Bishop Seabury (13-5) climbed into the second round of the 1A-Di sub-state with a 79-24 victory against Wakefield (1-18) on February 25. The Seahawks will appear at home at home at 6 p.m. on Monday.

Tonganoxia wins 4a girls wrestling state tournament

The wrestling team from Tonganoxies girl won the 4a wrestling State Championship after scoring 104.0 points in the State Tournament on Saturday.

Five wrestlers from eight qualifications made the podium. Stella Bradley won the 115 pound weight class with a 39-second pen in first place. Grace Stean was the runner-up in the 170 pound clip with three pens to reach the championship game that she lost at a pen.

Mackenzie Colgrove finished fourth in the 145 pound weight class, Autumn Wilson took fifth place in the 120 pound weight class and Finley Keller took sixth place in the 135 pound weight class.

The Baldwin Girls Wrestling Team took the 25th place with 36.0 points. Canyon Buris took fourth place in the 105-pound clip, and Finnley Kellerman finished fourth in the 235 pound weight class. They were the only two from Baldwin who qualified for the tournament. With 14.5 points, the Eudora team took 45th place after three wrestlers. Madelnn Arnold was the only placer to take sixth place in the 140 pound weight class.

Tonganoxia takes sixth place in the 4a boy Wrestling State Tournament

The wrestling team of Tonganoxy Boys finished the sixth of 56 teams with 72.5 points at the 4A Boys State Wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Four of the ten chiefs at the tournament reached the podium. Brady Martin had the best finish as a second place in the 157-pound weight class. He lost in a narrow 4-1-sophisticated victory in the championship fight.

Brodie Starcher won the fifth game in the 113 pound clip in a 7-1 decision. At the end of the first period, Rowdy Starcher took sixth place in the 106 pound holder. After two victories, Dax Duffett also took sixth place to start the tournament in the 138 pound weight class.

Baldwin qualified four wrestlers for the tournament, but nobody did the podium. They ended with 3.0 points, which was 44. Eudora's team brought three wrestlers to the tournament, but did not end with points and volume 51.
