A Berkeley Craigslist meeting was viral thanks to the Oscars

Colman Domingo did not take an Oscar home on Sunday, but the “Sing” actor with Deep Bay Area Roots made waves online for much delightful reasons.

During a commercial break, he jumped on stage with a glass of champagne to serve as a hype man, and encouraged the crowd, from Maze, a radio band from the 1970s, which was based in Oakland, to dance part of his long career (Frontman Frankie Beverly died last year).

On the red carpet he arrived at the arm of his husband Raúl Domingo. The couple ensures a striking couple who prompted some Internet fans to surpass an interview from last year in which Colman describes the origins of the Bay Area of ​​their love story.

Colman moved to San Francisco in 1991 to pursue acting and became an integral part of the city's theater scene. In 2005, a random encounter in a Berkeley Walgreens changed his life.

In a conversation about “The Graham Norton Show” at the BBC, Colman tells a night in a Walgreens, where he noticed a “beautiful, beautiful” man with long hair and a lip piercing. The couple kept blocking their eyes, but didn't speak.

A few days later, Colman scanned Craigslist and considered a lack of a connection indicator about the encounter. When he searched the section, he stumbled on an entry from someone he recognized, the mysterious Walgreens man had to be man.

“I thought: 'Do you want to kid me? It's me. 'He described me with my Faux Hawk, ”said Domingo.

The two men met and Domingo told a delicate moment on her first date, which predicted her 19-year union.
