The statue was one of 23 unveiled in the United Kingdom, including in the hometown Newbury of Paddington Micheal Bond in October before the film “Paddington in Peru” by Studiocanal, the outlet says.

Who is Paddington?

Paddington was created by Bond in 1958 and is a bear from Peru who wears an old red bush hat and a blue duffle coat, wearing a brown brown leather case and loves jam -sandwiches.

“I bought a small toy bear on Christmas Eve 1956. I saw how he left in a shelf in a London shop and that it was sorry for it,” said Bond about the bear before he died in June 2017, according to Paddington website. “I took it home as a gift for my wife Brenda and called it Paddington when we lived near the Paddington station at the time. I wrote some stories about the bear, more for fun than with the idea of publishing them. After 10 days I found that I had a book in my hands. It was not written specifically for children, but I think I pulled the friendly things that I like to read about when I was young. “

Paddington became orphaned after an earthquake when he was only a few weeks old, according to the organic biography. Paddington was sent by his aunt Lucy to London, England, who took care of him before she retired to a house in Lima. She taught the young bear to “speak perfect English” and arranged that he was a stovaway in a ship rescue boat, the biography says.

According to the organic biography Paddington, Ms. Brown found Paddington on a small suitcase near the Lost property office in the Paddington station in London. The Browns took Paddington home to live with them in 32 Gardens Windsor in London, together with their two children Jonathan and Judy and her housekeeper Mrs. Bird, says the biography.

Paddington and his adventures in England were the subject of 30 books and three animated films in full length.
