Survey results: The majority of the offshore readers reject the 'Gulf of America'.

Well, the results are in. As it turns out, most are Offshore The readers reject the newly renamed “Golf of America”.

In order to be precise, 45% of the respondents “strongly” reject the new name, while 11% only “contradict”. But together, that is 56% of those surveyed who oppose the new name.

Offshore Poll asked the readers what they thought about the name change “Golf of America”, and the survey ran from February 12 to March 2. There were 3,092 survey.

As for those who prefer the “Gulf of America”, “support” 22% the new name, while 7% said they support him. Taken together, this is 29% of those surveyed who support the new name.

Interestingly, 16% of the respondents stated that they were “neutral” on this topic.

Some other perspectives: As was to be expected, this topic has generated intensive feelings. If you take the 45% that “strongly contradict” the new name and the 22%, “strongly contradict”, you could see that 67% of the readers – two thirds – arise strongly over the name change in one way or another.

A few more notes on the survey: The survey was included in each Offshore daily E-newsletter for two weeks and it was also passed on Offshore Social media channels. In addition, President Trump was included in our reporting on the announcement of the name of Golf of America by President Trump, and a pop-up survey was created for them Offshore Website. There were mechanisms that made it possible for users to take over the survey once.

The survey was open to everyone Offshore Readers all over the world. While the majority of respondents (57%or 1,765 interviewed) came from the USA, we also received answers from Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Norway.
