The director of the East Falmouth Police Training Academy and his coordinator were suspended under an investigation of the allegations of misconduct by academy instructors.

The urban police training committee began its investigation on February 26, “to identify specific information on alleged incidents of misconduct by employees and trainers from the academy,” wrote Rick Rathbun, Executive Director of MPTC, in a letter to police chief.

The academy is headed by the state and offers new police officers in basic training in Massachusett's basic training.

Extells removed from positions

According to the letter, the police authorities were expressed concerns with recruits at the academy. On February 27, the MPTC temporarily removed all employee instructors at the academy from its positions, and the academy director and coordinator were suspended until the result of the examination.

“Any form of harassment, nuisance or misconduct is clearly unacceptable and violates our basic values of integrity, respect and professionalism,” says the letter.

“We encourage everyone with information about these allegations to report and report their concerns,” continues.

Investigations with MPTC Academies

Last year a WBZ examination showed dozens of trainers from the MPTC academies with serious complaints against them.

In November WBZ reported that MPTC began to investigate Dozens of police officers who were quickly brought up by mandatory online training.

“We have discovered cases in which training courses that should take hours will be completed in a few minutes,” says a letter from MPTC to Massachusett's police chiefs.

In December, the agency alerted 152 police stations that 487 civil servants “completed part of one or more online in service training in less than the expected term”.
