UW Health expert gives tips on practicing mindfulness meditation.

Madison, Wis. (WMTV) – An old practice comes back through the power of social media. Mindfulness meditation is a trend topic, and experts say that it has proven that they have advantages.

The UW health psychologist Dr. Shilagh Mirgain came to WMTV on Monday and explained how this practice can change her life.

“It can be a stabilizing force,” said Mirgain when she explained the power of practice. “It is to bring your spirit to the here and now in the present moment and try not to be valuable.”

She said more people use this meditation, the more they will appear in their lives and be present with others.

Mirgain has three tips on implementing this practice:

  • Plan it: Choose a regular time every day.
  • Use an anchor: It is helpful to create a focus on which you attract your attention. Many people begin to observe their breathing.
  • Bring your mind back: if your mind gently brings him back to the current moment and your anchor.

Another frequent mini meditation is to use the 3 HP: break, presence, continue.

Here is a breakdown of this technology:

  • Break: stop what you do
  • Presence: Note your breath, feel your body and space. Think about how the situation requires you.
  • Go away: Think about how you want to show up for the next moment.

She suggests starting with these practices and growing up.
