Slopd announces the security enhancement zone for St. Patrick's Day

In order to discourage St. Patrick's Day's ussy party, the police department of San Luis Obispo announced two upcoming safety improvement zones.

Safety improvement zones are periods in which fines for violations in connection with noise, unruly assemblies, open containers and public urination are doubled. Fine is sufficient from 700 to 1,000 US dollars.

The St. Patrick's Day Safety Enhancement Zones will be in operation on Friday, March 7th to 7pm, Monday, March 10th, and Friday, March 14th, March 18th, from midnight.

On the Saturday of St. Patrick's Day Walling last year, thousands of people near Cal Poly gathered and forced the closure of several streets. Several cars were damaged and damage on campus was also reported in several residential facilities.

“The street party, which has taken place in recent years, is not allowed,” said the police in a press release and added that Slopd was used at a maximum during the safety enhancement zones.

This year, Cal Poly hopes to pull party goers from the surrounding districts with a free music festival on the campus. “Morning on the Green-A Mustang Music Festival” will take place on Saturday, March 15th, in the Cal Poly Sports Complex Lower Fields from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m.
