Stingrays dominate solar bears in the RoadTrip Finale from Florida

Orlando, Fla. (WCIV) – The South Carolina Stingrays completed their road trip in Florida with a commanding victory over the solar bears in Orlando.

The Stingrays secured a 5-1 win with goals from Charlie Combs, Austin Magera, Justin Nachbaur, Romain Rodzinski and Tyler Weiss.

The goalkeeper Mitchell Gibson appeared for the first time since December 21, 2024 and stopped 25 out of 26 shots.

Combs opened the goals in the first period after receiving a perfect pass from Josh Wilkins and scored his 16th goal of the season. Magera expanded the lead in the second half with a short goal, supported by Ryan Hofer.

Jaydon Dureau from Solarbären reacted with a 5-to-3 goal, but Nachbaur quickly restored the two-goal advantage for the stirreds. Rodzinski added his first goal as a stingray late in the second half, and white ended the goal in the third period with its 15th goal of the season.

The stingrays will face the Savannah Ghost Pirates next Wednesday evening.
