Spring practice begins

Charlettesville, va. (Wvir) – The UVA football team started spring training on Monday.

Uva coach Tony Elliott begins his fourth season at UVA.

He has the difficult job to transform his reigning players with 19 new transfers.

“It will be an entertaining challenge for us this spring,” says Elliott. “So far it looks like there is good chemistry and a good bond between the boys who are here.”

The veterans of the program are now fighting for playing tie and starting jobs.

“Being a man who was here. They don't want to lose their place, ”says the Uva -defensive -Lineman Anthony Britton. “So they encourage them to work even harder and we jump ideas from each other. It was a really good atmosphere.”

“The competition depths talk a lot about a lot,” says Jahmeer Carter, student of UVA. “Having enough guys to play it anyway. First and foremost, it begins with showing culture. I've been here for a while, so I know Elliott's culture and vision. “

Many of these 19 transfers are doctoral students and came to UVA to win start jobs.

“Everyone wants to compete, everyone has to compete there to give everything,” says Jayden Thomas, student recipient of UVA, who changed from Notre Dame. “This is what I love about this university, so I do here. We just try to achieve Elliott's goal, to win a championship here. “

Many eyes on the transfer quarterback Chandler Morris, who will probably be Virginia's starter.

“Great arm out there, he does everything he can out there to do his timing right,” says Thomas.

“Chandler is good and loves to have him nearby,” says Uva Senior Tight End Dakota Twitty. He and Danny, Hey, bring a completely different energy, bring your energy to where you were, and the experiences you had with the boys here was just great to see and see great. “

This was the first of 15 spring practices for Virginia. It will culminate with the annual spring game on Sunday, April 12th.
