La Shooting examines near the Echo Park

LOS ANGELES – – A shootout is examined near Los Angeles' Echo Park.

What we know:

The police authority in Los Angeles reacted to a call of a man who may suffer from an episode of mental health near the 2400 block of the Bellevue Avenue.

According to the LAPD, the officials discovered a man who might be armed with a weapon. When the man supposedly focused on the officers, Lapd shot on the armed man.

The man was injured in the shooting of the officer. Lapd said the man was taken to the hospital and was in a critical condition.

What we don't know:

Officials did not say whether the man, who was supposedly armed with a weapon, was sought because of other crimes. LAPD did not indicate which officer may have fired her weapons on the possibly armed man or not.

The shootout is examined.
