Maserati sets up a new record for the fastest self -driving car when autonomous systems become more intelligent

Maserati's MC20 already has the reputation of being an extremely fast car, and now a one -time version has set up a speed record with no one at the wheel.

The prototype was clocked at an exhibition run during the 1000 Miglia experience Florida, which Cape Canaveral visited in the US state of Florida, at a top speed of 318 km/h (198 miles per hour).

The car set up the self -driving record on the Space Shuttle -Landebetrieb in Kennedy Space Center, the same place where the previous record of 310.2 km/h 2022 was set by a modified Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC) racing car.

The new record is only shortly before the regular maximum speed of the MC20 of 325 km/h, using a 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine with two turbochargers that produces 621 hp.

The Maserati robot uses software developed by students from the artificial intelligence of Milan University, which drives autonomous unit. The project goal was to be seen how self -driving software develops in a production vehicle under extreme driving conditions.

Maserati, owned by the world's third largest automobile manufacturer, Stellantis, has had profitability in recent years despite the legendary status of the Italian brand.
