Rallye aimed to enlarge the day without immigrants in DEKALB County-WSB-TV channel 2

Critics of the Trump government's immigration and deportation policy gathered on Monday evening in the Plaza Fiesta in Brookhaven.

“This place has a huge population with a migration background that comes here and is entering here,” said Alan Martinez Courtney Francisco by Channel 2.

The Plaza Fiesta website describes it as the heart of the Latin American community.

“This is an epicenter of activity for immigrant communities,” said Tasfaia Jahangar.

The rally was developed to enlarge a national boycott during the day as a “day without immigrants”.

The organizers encouraged the supporters to skip work, school and expenses in order to show the effects of mass deportations on the economy.

“How we need you,” said Martinez.

Martinez took part in the protest, but said that his immigrant parents did not decide for fear of retaliation.

On the other side of the debate, Georgia's GOP leader Josh McKoon, said that the guidelines of the new government will not damage the economy.

“We don't want people to be victims and exploited. We want people to receive an honest day for the work of an honest day, and that's what it really goes. We don't want our country to be built on people who receive the black market wages, ”said McKoon. “We can definitely get by with American citizens who have to do jobs here in this country.”

Martinez said, Plaza Fiesta, a place with shops owned by immigrants and customers who made sense for a demonstration on Monday evening. The police were faced with the rally and the security kept it far from property.

“A shopping center with thousands of immigrants who come here primarily does not allow any rally for immigrant rights to their property,” said Martinez.

Canal 2 turned to Plaza Fiesta to get an answer. We are waiting to hear back.

Demonstrators said they don't know where the next meeting will be or when, but they said they will continue to appear.

“We will continue to carry out our rallies and do our town halls to explain the rights against ice and police,” said Martinez.

The demonstration on Monday evening ended without arrests.
