The legislator in Florida is aiming for a great overhaul of the insurance company

The legislator also calls for greater transparency in the functioning of insurance companies. SB 1656 and HB 1429, introduced by Senator Jay Collins and representative Tom Fabricio, must request insurers to pass on payments to partner companies and to explain how legal disputes, reinsurance costs and other internal fees affect customer premiums. A similar draft of law by Senator Don Gaetz, SB 554, requires reports in which the remuneration of managers and financial relationships between insurers and their partner companies are described. Gaetz, Alex Andrade, together with the representative of House Sponsor, also urges Florida's old disposable lawyers' fee, with which the policyholder could previously receive legal costs if they successfully sue the insurance companies. This would reverse a change from 2023, in which both sides had to cover their own legal costs.
