Media investigations reveal the connections from Călin Georgescu to Soros Foundation and USA after his public attacks on them

A new study by independent journalists on the recorder shows that the right -wing extremist politician Călin GeorgescuThe routinely accuses of American-Hungarian billionaire George Soros, interfered in Romanian politics, worked with the latter foundation and the USA in the nineties.

The investigation begins with the view that Călin Georgescu led the NGOs who focused on problems with the environment and sustainable development: Tineretul ecologist Din România (1990-1996) and the National Center for Sustainable Development or CND (1997-2011). Before Romania joined the EU in 2007, these organizations were financed almost exclusively by international sources, including the EU and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The latter is now an atrocities in Romania and the United States after the Trump government claimed that it was an instrument for financing more sparse movements. The US President dismantled the organization and reduced aid 60 billion US dollars, among other things, programs that aimed at Ebola and HIV in Africa.

After the Romanian anti-communist revolution of 1989, USAID money supported the NGOs in Eastern Europe. Călin Georgescu was even involved in a scandal in relation to the financing of USAID.

In the summer of 2003, Romania was to receive an installment payment of $ 35 million as part of the 2002-2006 Romania aid strategy. Part of the funds should be managed via the National Center for Sustainable Development and the Federation of the Local Authorities of Romania.

In June 2003, three USAI employees reported to the USID general inspector in the United States that “Călin Georgescu did not give supervision about their goal after receiving the money” and “witness to blackmail founds”. The press reported that GEORGESCU had received $ 215,000 in USAID, which had not been suffocated by USA, until this moment. In the middle of this scandal, journalists Călin Georgescu portrayed as a “influential figure with connections” among politicians.

USAID was not the only source of financing for Georgescu. In 1995, the local publication Jurnal Bihorean found that the Tinereetul ecologist from Călin Georgescu and the Soros Foundation organized an open society in four high school in Oradea “Ecology Education Week”. The partnership between Georgescus NGO and George Soros' Foundation was carried out in connection with the Earth Day.

Now Călin Georgescu claims that the “SoroS Network” Romania is causing great damage and that he will eliminate it as president on his first day. The label was used to have paid its critics from the state apparatus and the non -governmental sector, but also in the press, with Georgescus supporters from those who claim them without evidence of having paid to George Soros. However, the Soros Foundation for an open society stopped in Romania in 2017.

Georgescus Numerous connections to the USA and Soros Foundation did not prevent him from presenting themselves as a champion in the struggle “Anti-Soros” during and after the 2024 presidential elections in 2024.
