Mount Vernon Man today at Yonkers Bus Shooting opposite an indictment

A man from Mount Vernon is to be charged today after he has supposedly shot another man in an argument who spilled a B-line bus to the busy Yonkers Avenue.

“He was bleeding on his arm and it looked like a shot. He screamed on the phone, 'I was just shot,” says Mr. Rios, who went to the area shortly after the shootout.

The incident occurred late Monday morning when the bus stopped in the Yonkers Avenue and the Vernon Avenue. The police say that the two men have risen and killed.

The police say that Levar Dimmie, 48, from Mount Vernon fired a single shot that hit the 36-year-old Daniel Pena from Yonkers in her arms.

According to the police, Dimmie then ran away.

The officers arrested Dimmie on the Bronx River Road about 10 minutes later. The police also found a pistol.

“I recommend the fast and professional actions of our patrol police officers to capture this suspect and to secure the scene. The joint efforts of our patrol police officers, detectives and crime scene unit were of crucial importance in this study. We will continue to work tirelessly to be held accountable to those who are responsible for making violence, ”says Chris Sapienza, Commissioner of the Yonkers police.

Dimmie looks at the first degree and a number of criminal possessions of a weapon to a second degree compared to a count of the attack. He is to be charged on Tuesday.

Pena was taken to the hospital. Finally he was in a stable state.

Neighbors in the area tell News 12, the violence is in the foreground.

“Very surprising, that surprised me,” says Adam Young, who lives nearby.

The cause of the dispute remains unclear.
