Ferrari wins legal cases to postpone the start date of Enrico Cardile at Aston Martin

Ferrari has gained a legal case that prevents Enrico Cardile from starting in his new role at Aston Martin until July, as can be seen from a explanation of the Formula -1 team.

Cardile left his role as a technical director Chassis and Aerodynamics at Ferrari on July 8th and ended a 19-year connection with the constructor. The following day, Aston Martin announced that he would join the team as Chief Technical Officer.

A start date for the 49-year-old had never been announced publicly, although Ferrari found that an Italian court found that he had illegally worked with Aston Martin before an ban on competition had expired.

“Ferrari makes it clear that a few weeks ago, the Modena court, who maintained the inquiries from the company, instructed Enrico Cardile to stop working with the team of Aston Martin Aramco F1 until July 18,” said the team on Tuesday.

“In this urgent procedural phase, the Modena court found that our former employee was already violating the non-binding commitment with Ferrari, the purpose of which was exactly to prevent other F1 teams from gaining an unjustified competitive advantage by hiring cardile earlier than allowed, which caused Ferrari irreparable damage.”

Aston Martin said in a statement that: “This is a matter between Enrico and Ferrari and their legal representatives in Italy, and the parties are still involved in the process.”

Why McLaren is the team that can be surpassed in the new F1 season

Andy Cowell, director and CEO of Aston Martin Team, who replaced Mike Krack in the role in January, did not confirm a start date for cardile when he was asked at the pre -season tests in Bahrain last week.

“We look forward to working well together 1000 people,” said Cowell.

“We look forward to Adrian (Newey), who joins. We look forward to the dozens of new starters that we have every month.

“So we look forward to having everyone together and working well as a team, with each member a clear responsibility of Adrian, to me to interns who work for us for 12 months in their degree.”

When he was asked whether he had expected everyone, including cardile in good time, to join the team to the team to work on the 2026 car, Cowell did not mention Cardile again.

It is not unusual for the F1 employees end a garden vacation when a team left for another.

Aston Martin was strengthened by the official arrival of Newey, who began his role as a technical partner on Monday, although he had resigned from Red Bull in May and agreed to join the British team in September.

Adrian Newey joins the Aston Martin F1 team in the long-term contract

“Frustrating” development for Aston Martin

Analysis of the Senior F1 writer Luke Smith

Cardile signing by Aston Martin was part of his advance to put together an all-star-technical group in order to achieve his goal of becoming the next big F1 team.

Newey, the most decorating and most successful designer in F1 history, began on Monday with Aston Martin with a deal that pays him better than most F1 drivers. The Aston Martin owner Lawrence Walk is firmly convinced that it offers a good price -performance ratio.

Like Newey, Cardile always wanted to have difficulty influencing the 2025 season on the team. Since the technical regulations are able to change the car design for 2026 in their last year before a major change, Aston Martin – and all of its competitors – aim a step forward.

Waiting for cardile a little longer will be frustrating for Aston Martin. The earlier he could have started and could have brought his teeth into the 2026 project, the earlier he could have had an impact. At a time when the margins in F1 are so good and the rewarded rewards for a good car are enormous in 2026, it can be of crucial importance if it is an advantage that could take other teams to overcome the best heads for the project.

When he arrives, Cardile will be a central component of the technical group that works with Newey. With a new state-of-the-art factory and a work that has a Honda Engine partnership next year, the team is confident that the building blocks will come together to achieve a future title offer.
