Fire destroys the former scout building in Lorain; No injuries

The building, which was not used in buildings at the time, is expected to be torn down later.

Lorain, Ohio – A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at the former Girl Scouts building in Lorain, which led to the probable demolition of the structure.

According to the fire brigade of Lorain, the crews reacted to the fire at 6111 South Broadway at 1:28 a.m.

On arrival, firefighters saw flames from the third floor. Firefighters entered the building to maintain an internal attack and look for someone, but confirmed that the structure was not occupied.

Lorain firefighters informed 3news that the roof began to collapse and forced the crews to evacuate and switch to an outdoor attack. When firefighters worked to bring out the flames, the third floor broke into the second floor.

The fire has been deleted since then, and no injuries were reported according to the department. The building, which was not used in buildings at the time, is expected to be torn down later.

Elyria Fire helped the reaction. The cause of the fire was not released.
