Lawrence – Chrissa Kioussi, professor and chair of the pharmaceutical sciences at Oregon State University, will be the third candidate of the position of the School of Pharmacy Dean present their vision for the school.

The presentation was created on March 6th to 17th in room 1020 of the School of Pharmacy Building. The event becomes live stream and the pass code is 932064.

The presentation of the fourth and last candidates was also postponed on March 13 at 4:00 p.m. to 17 March in room 1020 in the School of Pharmacy Building. They will be announced about two working days before the visit.

Members of the KU community are encouraged to participate in the presentations and to give feedback to the search committee. Presentation recordings and the online feedback form remain available on the search page by March 18.

As the chairman of the OSU pharmaceutical sciences department, KiOUSI heads a team of faculties, students, trainees and employees, promotes the research portfolio of the College of Pharmacy and is advocated for teaching and research needs.

Their research refers to developmental biology and molecular genetics and focuses on how genes and cells work cooperatively and systematically to generate and regenerate, with numerous units, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), American Heart Association and March of Dimes.

KiOUSI was previously as American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Academic Leadership Fellow and Provost Fellow, Chairman of the College of Pharmacy Promotion and Tenure Committee and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of the Research Office and Member of the Center for Quantitative Scientific Advisory Board and Faculty Graduate Council.

She is an editor and reviewer of several scientific magazines and book series as well as reviewers in NIH -study sections, US research hours and European research agencies.

In molecular and cellular biology from the Hellenic Pasteur Institute and a Bachelor's degree in biology of the national and Kapodistrian university of Athens, both in Athens, Greece, in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Previously, she had trained at the Pasteur Institute, at the University College London, at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, at the Scripps Research Institute and the Medicine School of Medicine at the University of California.

The Search Committee for the School of Pharmacy Dean includes representatives of faculties, employees, students and alumni and becomes a dean of the School of Social Welfare, and Candan Tamerler, deputy Vice Chancellor for Mechanical Engineering.
