The Greater of the Moines Botanical Garden has publicly introduced its 9 million dollar capital campaign with the title “Welcome, Gather, Grow”.

The campaign will help the non -profit organization to make the location more accessible, to expand its event rooms and, according to DSM Magazine, to develop more from its property along the East Bank of the Moines River.

The silent phase of the botanical garden of the campaign brought more than 8 million US dollars, including four main gifts of 1 million US dollars from Tom and Linda Koehn Foundation, Ed and Sue Kenny, Susan Moore and Meredith Corp. Foundation. The garden aims to achieve its target of 9 million US dollars this summer, according to a press release.

Among other things, the capital campaign is financed:

  • A colorful entrance arch on the south side of the Interstate 235 overpass as well as new paths and educational signs in the entire facility. The bow will be installed at the end of 2026 or early 2027 until the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Iowa Department of Transportation are approved.
  • A renovated lobby with separate access to the gardens, the garden and flora, the in -house restaurant.
  • New gardens for free access.
  • Improvements to the Gärtner Show House and the North Gallery for Horticulture Workshops and other events. These rooms are closed for these updates from mid -May to early October.
