The fire was reported near Interstate 37 and Southton Road, which is located south of Loop 410.

KSAT is livestreaming coverage of the grass fire and will offer context to Tuesday’s wildfire threat with Meteorologist Justin Horne. KSAT’s coverage is expected to begin at 1:20 p.m. in the above video player within this article.

TransGuide captured some of the fire on its camera on Tuesday afternoon.

A City of San Antonio official confirmed to KSAT that the San Antonio Fire Department and Bexar County Emergency Services Districts (ESD) firefighters are on the scene of the fire.

In a Tuesday afternoon social media post, Bexar County officials issued evacuation orders for an area of south Bexar County affected by the grass fire.

The evacuation order is in effect for the area east of Interstate 37 that stretches north up near Burke Pruski Metal Fabrication, located on 13105 Donop Road, and reaches just south of Southton Road.

Reinforcing the county’s order, city officials are asking residents in the area to evacuate due to the “rapidly spreading” grass fire.

According to Horne, western winds could gust anywhere between 45 and 50 miles per hour from approximately 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is a developing story. Check back for more updates.
