Massaro for a prestigious selection committee for college football playoffs appointed

Murfreesboro – Middle Tennessee Athletics Director Chris Massaro When CFP Management Committee was appointed to the selection committee for College Football Playoff (CFP), Rich Clark Rich Clark Rich Clark said on Tuesday.

Massaro will work for the next three football seasons in the prestigious 13-person selection committee. Mack Rhades, director of Baylor Athletics, will act as chairman of the selection committee for the 2025 season.

“It is an incredible honor to be selected for College Football Playoff selection committee,” added Massaro. “I look forward to contributing to the important work in the evaluation of the best teams in the nation and working with some extremely talented people. College football continues to grow and I am looking forward to being a small part of the process that formulates its future.”

Massaro was one of five new members who were appointed to the CFP selection committee. Mark Dantonio, former head coach of the University of Cincinnati and the Michigan State University; Damon Evans, athletics director at the University of Maryland; Ivan Maisel, former athlete of the constitution of Atlanta, Sports Illustrated, The Dallas Morning News, Newsday, ESPN and On3; And Wesley Walls, the former all-American ENGE end of Ole Miss, were also used on the committee from the 2025 season. The new members start three -year term from this spring. You will replace Chet Gladchek, Jim Grobe, Ward Manuel, wants to replace Shields and Kelly Whiteside, whose conditions have expired.

Your skills and variety of experiences – from coaches and athletes to university leaders and journalists – will ensure that you are successfully classified with our returning members. We also appreciate that Steve returns for the coming season.

The CFP selection committee is responsible for the ranking of 25 teams in the playoffs and the assignment of the top -12 participants of the Playoff clip. The committee meets personally, starting late in the football season and produces a ranking of the 25 best teams every week that lead to his last selections.

The other Returning Selection Committee Members are Chris AULT (LongTime Head Coach and Athletics Director, University of Nevada), Randall McDaniel (Former All-American Offensive Lineman, Arizona State University), Mike Riley (Former Head Coach, Oreegon State University and the University Nebraska), David Sayler (Athletics Director, Miami University, Ohio), Carla Williams (Athletics Director, University of Virginia; and Hunter Yurachek (athletics director of the University of Arkansas).

Massaro, the long-term advertisement in the FBS, has conducted the MTSU sports department in the past 20 years. Under his leadership, the Blue Raiders have brought 87 conference championships (including 45 in the Sun Belt and 42 to the USA) and three individual national championships. The 42 Cusa titles have been most since every school since the Blue Raiders entered the league in 2013.

In addition to the growth of the Middle Tennessee Athletic program, Massaro was instrumental in numerous national administrations and committees. He was appointed to the NCAA football committee for football editions in March 2008, was a member of the renowned NCAA Division I women's basketball committees for the 2010/11 season and in the NCAA Division I Leadership Council.

Before he came to MTSU, Massaro spent almost two decades in various administrative roles at the University of South Carolina, began in the ticket office and rose through the ranks to Senior Associate Athletics Director during this time. Massaro acquired his bachelor's degree at the University of Northern Colorado and his master at Ohio University. At UNC, Massaro was a five -year -old member of the football team.
