Colorado Springs Fire Marshal announces the retirement after almost 30 years

Colorado Springs, Colorado (KKTV) – On Tuesday, the fire brigade marshal of the Colorado Springs fire brigade announced its retirement.

Firefighter Brett Lacey joined the department in 1992 as Senior Fire Protection Engineer, and CSFD said he was the firefighter of the department since 1998.

CSFD said Lacey plans to retire on March 28th.

Lacey completed the Oklahoma State University as a registered professional engineer and certified security specialist with a commitment to the fire brigade industry. CSFD said that Lacey's skills and experience in the positions of the firefighter, paramedics, deputy firefighter and fire protection engineer contributed to his success as a firefighter of the department.

“Brett is known from many as a fire brigade, team member, change agent, mentor, educator and friend. His efforts throughout his career left the fire brigade not only on site during his career, but also throughout the state, regional and at the national level, ”said fire chief Randy Royal. “The 32 -year service that he has made available to our community and its citizens have really focused on improving our public security and ensuring this in an excellent and professional manner. CSFD said Lacey was a leading leader of several large local and national incidents.
