Jamaal Williams meets in 2025 free agency after publication of the saints

Salt Lake City – The former BYU -Running Jamaal Williams meets the Free Agent market after he was reportedly published by the New Orleans Saints.

The NFL insider Ian Rapoport first reported the news on Tuesday, March 4. The publication of Williams saves the Saint 3.2 million US dollars against the salary limit.

Williams recently completed his second season in New Orleans. In 14 games, the former cougar saw dramatically reduced in his eighth season.

The native of Rialto, California, wore the ball 48 times for 164 yards and a touchdown in 14 games. He found the end zone twice in two years with the saints, far from his career high of 17 TDS with Detroit in 2022.

About Jamaal Williams

Before his time in the NFL, Williams was a star at BYU. He ended his time in Provo as the leading rusher of the Cougars ever in career and single yard yards.

During his time at BYU (2012-14, 2016) Williams ran the ball 726 times for 3,901 yards and 35 touchdowns. He also had 60 receptions for 567 yards and a touchdown. Williams lost only two fiddles during his college career.

After his time at the BYU, the native South California was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the NFL design in 2017. He played the first four seasons of his professional career with the packers before signing the Lions in 2021.

Last season Williams ran for 1,066 yards and 17 touchdowns. It was his first 1,000 yard season in the NFL. With his 17 touchdowns, Williams became the touchdown rushing of the Detroit Lions of Detroit Lions and passed the legendary Barry Sanders.

Williams helped the Lions to a 9: 8 record in his second and last season in Detroit.

In his first six seasons in the league, the former BYU star ran 3,652 yards and 30 touchdowns. He also recorded 1,191 reception sheets and eight touchdowns from the Backfield.

The Running Back signed at the Saints in March 2023. Williams scored 106 Carries for 306 yards and a touchdown in his first season in New Orleans.
