Hancock said he was looking for help and encouraged others to do the same. He said he started to take part in the session with a consultant and learn to work through my fear, grief and depression.

Hancock wrote that his new mission is to help other coaches “to learn to work through problems with mental health that are a fight for them”.

Current and former students say that they deal for Hancock.

“I pray that he returns to himself and is able to return to coaching, but if he is not and it is too much for him, we all have to understand,” said former student Jodi Russell.
