Holy Cross' Jude Mendez signed with D3 Football Power St. Johns

Holy Cross, the back Jude Mendez, was teamed up with a Cheff football coach Hosea Stredic, who believed to establish the run during his last year.

Mendez shone under these circumstances, hurried 139 times for 2,017 yards and in 2024 scored a total of 38 touchdowns for the six-man crusaders.

Mendez 'achievements also recognized him at College level.

Mendez with the NCAA Division III football program St. Johns University in Collegeville, Minnesota, during a signature ceremony, on Tuesday at the Holy Cross Tomlin Gymnasium.

Mendez is the first football player at Holy Cross to take a college football engagement, according to a press release from the school.

Mendez was attracted to St. John's pride and tradition, which is the most profitable football program in the history of NCAA Division III with a win of 0.723 and raises the entitlement to four national championships.

“I thought it was a very nice college and had a very good community,” said Mendez. “About 99% of the trainers are former players. I loved that on the program. It means that you love this program so much that you simply come back and train and help the team and have to progress as a program. “

Mendez said the support of the community and the student for SJU was also noticeable.

“The head coach (Gary Fasching) told me a story, her mascot is a rat,” said Mendez. “What started that their fans really went crazy during basketball games, made irregular cheers and were very loud and disgusting to the other team. That became a thing there, it influenced her mascot and such. I think you decide to travel out and cheer very loudly for your team. It only shows how well they take care of it and how good they are in the community. “

Stredic said his philosophy was given the ball in his first year and just let him do his thing.

Under this philosophy, Mendez put together some striking achievements, including 391 rushing yards and five TDS in the 66:21 win of Holy Cross against Grandfall-Royalty.

Mendez said the St. Johns contacted him for the first time at the beginning of the football season and engaged the rest of the path.

“I only know that the trainer keep an eye on me throughout the season,” said Mendez. “He kept me up to date with her games. He asked what we would have. I think that was another main factor why I chose this school. They were always involved with me compared to other schools. “

Stredic said on Tuesday that it was a big deal for Mendez to be the first of Holy Cross to pass to the College level.

“I know that you will bring this school to a higher level,” said Stredic.
