Samuel Ersson moved a bad start after home stock – NBC Sports Philadelphia

Back in Philadelphia and the dynamics, the Flyers opened a season with a home stand with seven games with a DUD.

They gave up four goals of the first period and lost to the flames in the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday evening.

Samuel Ersson was thrown only 9:32 minutes after the campaign after giving up three goals at five shots.

Noah Cates stopped bleeding the flyers with a destination. Andrei Kuzmenko and Matvei Michkov scored the other markers.

Calgary frozen the game with an empty network.

The Flyers (27-27-8) had a five-game point strip (4-0-1). Three days ago, they took the NHL-leading jets on the street 2-1 in a shootout.

“If you are at home as a trainer, you are always worried about the level of concentration, only with families and other things that are at home,” said John Tortorella on Tuesday at Morning Skating. “I just want you to concentrate on every game.”

The Flyers have a game before Friday at 3:00 p.m. ET trade period and 20 to go into the season. On Tuesday they took four points back to second place on the Eastern Conference, but with five teams in front of them.

The flames (29-23-9) are in the second game card position of the Western Conference.

• After Tortorella thought about his decision for a moment, he called Ivan Fedotov's number when Calgary's lead over Connor Zary's second goal of the first period scored to 3-0.

Zary's side angle shot into the network of Ersson's shoulder and move into the network. Cam York and Travis Sanheim had the chance to disassemble the rush of the flames into the offensive zone, but not. York had a minus-2 mark at night.

Ersson was simply not himself and has now given up eight goals in his last two games. Previously, the 25-year-old was won with an average of 2.23 goals with 2.23 goals and a percentage of 0.919 since the holiday break.

Fedotov converted 25 parades with 27 shots in relief.

Dustin Wolf, one of Michkov's best competitors for the Calder Trophy, stopped 25 out of 28 shots on the flame network.

Michkov's goal was his 20th of the season and pulled the flyers within two in the third period.

• Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost were a guest player in Philadelphia for the first time.

The two strikers were traded in Calgary at the end of January. At a stopover on the first period, both were recognized in a video tribute and beautiful applause from the fans.

Frost ended with two templates and Farabee became goalless.

Kuzmenko, who came to the Flyers in retail, cut the deficit of his team to 3: 2.

But the flames only got it back 18 seconds later when Yegor Sharangovich scored and frost achieved his first helper.

• Travis Konecny has had no goals and two templates in five games since the face of the 4 nations.

At Morning Skate, Tortorella said that he had the feeling that his leading goal scorer had a little rethinking.

The flyers would undoubtedly like to get him up and running again from a target score. But the offensive was really not a big problem for the Flyers on Tuesday evening. You could not keep the puck out of your network from the start.

• Garnet Hathaway missed a second game in a row after having scored a blind goal last Thursday evening.

• The jets see the flyers on Thursday for the second time in six days (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP).
