North Platte Police Department offers security tips for Blizzard conditions

North Platte, alongside (Knop) – Tuesday was a news warning day due to the snow, but mainly because of the strong winds.

When we see the combination of snow and wind, the North Platte police department asks the residents to only travel if necessary.

If you have to travel under the windy conditions, Jeremiah Johnson from the North Platte police department gave tips on how to stay prepared for emergencies that you could meet on the street.

“Check your vehicle and make sure that you have clear windows, tires are inflated and there is a good traction on the tires so that you can maintain the road. We also recommend bringing security kits to cars if you are in the middle of the highway or in rural areas, ”said Johnson.

The North Platte police authority also helps the drivers who can be stranded on the street during the strong winds, including the streets to remove objects that have become obstacles.

“Our officers will patrol into the city and only make sure that we have no debris on the streets like falling branches, signs, garbage and the like. These things can often be driven by streets from which we get calls, so our officers are looking for these dangers, ”said Johnson.
