Video shows historical reunits, not real Taiwanese army exercises

Taiwan is faced with the constant threat of the invasion by China, but the recordings of actors who load an artillery monkey has brought into circulation in false places in which it has been claimed that it has shown a real Taiwanese military exercises. The performance that shows the use of a Haubitzeres in a former military facility that has since been converted into a tourist attraction.

China and Taiwan have been ruled separately since the communist army of Mao Zedong won a civil war and the opposition nationalist armed forces fled across the street in 1949 (archived connection).

Since then, Beijing has been part of its territory since then, and has not ruled out violence to use it under control.

The video also appeared in similar articles on X and Douyin when Beijing increased the use of fighter planes and naval ships around Taiwan (Archived Link).

However, it shows a re -enactment of how a Haubitzen is used in a tourist attraction in Kinmen.

Keyword search found a report in October 2021 by the Chinese broadcaster Phoenix TV about Chinese women on the mainland with Taiwanese spouses who worked as historical reenactors for tourists in Kinmen (Archived Link).

The performance displayed in the circulating video corresponds to that in the Phoenix television report.

Further searches showed that the performances at the Shishan Howitzer Front of Kinmen, which was converted into a tourist position in 2011, are converted, according to a website of the Kinmen County Department of Tourism (Archived Link).

The tourist position shows a Haubitzen, which Taiwanese armed forces used in 1958 when the Mao communist armed forces, an intensive bombing of Kinmen. The artillery -drill appearances take place daily with the exception of Thursdays.
