TBI examines fatal shootout in the officer in Cumberland County

Cumberland Co., Tenn. (Wvlt) – The office of the Cumberland County's sheriff said that on Tuesday afternoon a shootout of the official was affected by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

According to TBI, the incident occurred on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. CT, as a law enforcement officer searched for a suspect who was involved in a domestic incident, found the suspect's car and tried to cover it.

The suspect identified as a 42-year-old Jody Tollet from Crab Orchard led the police on a chase before he drove into a driveway in an entrance in the 9000 Block of Peavine Road and got out of his car with a handgun, said TBI.

The ball hit the windshield of the patrol car, and then Tollet hit the officer on foot, which led to the civil servant, who is together at the Fairfield Glade police department, to return the fire, beat and kill Tollet.
