High-tech salaries in Israel achieved record height despite slow employment growth

The average salary for an employee position in Israel rose by 5.1% in 2024 and rose from 12,863 nis (3,563 USD) to 13,514 NIS ($ 3,743) in 2023. In 2024, however, this wage growth was uneven, as the greatest increase in other industries was behind the significant increase in the rise.

High-tech salaries rise, while employment growth slows down

The average salary for an employee position in high-tech rose by 6.8%of 29,826 ($ 8,261) in 2023 on NIS 31,858 ($ 8,824) in 2024 in 2024. The highest salaries within the sector was recorded in scientific and open research, with the average content of NIS 35.87 $ ($ 9.87. 33,395 ($ 9,251).

Despite this wage gains, employment growth in high-tech has remained sluggish. The number of employees in the sector was an average of 400,600 in 2024 and marked a modest increase of 0.8% compared to 2023 (397,300). High-tech workstations made up 10.0% of all positions in the economy, a number that has remained largely unchanged.

Expand wage gaps when other industries have modest increase

The rapid growth of high-tech wages has further expanded the income differences in Israel. While the technical salaries recorded significant increases, other important industries recorded only modest wage growth: education increased by 3.5%, trade by 4.5%and health and well -being by only 2.6%.

Since the national insurance benefits are more connected to the consumer price index than with wages, their true value was further undermined. The consumer price index rose by 3.2% in 2024, which means that the benefits effectively decreased by 2%.

Salary loss in January Signals Correction after December Peak

After an all -time high in December 2024, the average salaries were strong in January. In December, the average wage reached 14,340 NIS ($ 3,971), but in January it had decreased almost 1,000 nis to 13,385 NIS ($ 3,706). This decline suggests that the numbers of December were more likely to be inflated by one -time payments and bonuses than by a permanent increase in wage.

In the meantime, the number of employees for Israeli workers remained stable and in January at 4.056 million, only slightly of 4.062 million in December 2024.
