Examined a moral gear after shooting

The Hillsborough County's office examines a murder at the Plantation Park am Parkcrest Drive in Tampa.

On March 4, 2025, HCSOS 911 Dispatch Center received a call over shots that were fired in the park at 7:24 p.m. The MPs arrived and found two adult men who suffered from obvious gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to the hospital. An adult man, Brian Jones, 19, succumbed to his injuries. The second victim is in a stable state.

In the course of the investigation, detectives learned during a basketball game, which led to the shootings.

“A basketball game should never lead to a senseless act of violence.” Sheriff Chad Chron Minister said. “Our detectives do everything to find out who is responsible for this hideous crime.”
