Clay County's MPs will wear body cameras in summer – Action News Jax

Clay County, Florida-Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook moves with an initiative to get your MPs with body worn. The Sheriff's office began to test various brands of body cameras in June 2024, and Cook said that she decided to go with Axon as a seller at a price of around 1.4 million dollars a year.

The sheriff plans to wear 50 MPs up to the summer, and in the summer of 2026 another 100 MPs, the Sheriff's office announced on Tuesday Action News Jax. Another 100 MPs will be added in the summer of 2027.

“The sheriff undertakes the transparency and implementation of cameras carried with body and has always been a priority for her,” said Ben Ryan, head of communication at Clay County's sheriff office.
