No ultra-wide camera, no SIM tablet and no lower speaker

The ultra-thin iPhone 17-air is expected to have a slim and light design, but at the expense of three popular functions in current iPhone models.

No lower speaker

Last year, the information reported that the iPhone 17 Air would be integrated a single loudspeaker with speakers integrated in the earphones at the upper edge of the device.

The latest 3D reserves seem to confirm this rumor and show only a few small holes at the bottom, probably for a microphone and not for an external speaker.

No ultra-wide camera

Similar to the iPhone 16E, the iPhone 17 Air becomes a single 48 megapixel fusion camera on the back.

However, the lack of an ultra-wide camera means that users are unable to capture ultra-wide angle recordings. With this selection of the design, Apple can probably assign more internal space for a larger battery.

No physical SIM card slot

Apple began to remove the physical SIM slot in the USA with the iPhone 14 series in 2022. It is no surprise that the iPhone 17 Air will continue this trend and that ESIM-NUR offers support on the US market.

However, the information suggests that Apple plans to exclude the physical SIM tray in more countries this year. This means that the iPhone 17 -air ESIM may only support worldwide instead of offering a combination of ESIM and physical SIM options as before.

Expected start

Apple is expected to present the iPhone 17 air in addition to the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
