Club Brugge against Aston Villa: UEFA Champions League statistics & head to head

Aston Villa will be favorites to reach the quarter -finals of the Champions League after scoring two late goals to beat the club Brugge in Belgium.

Leon Bailey had awarded the Premier League Club a lightning start in the last 16-leg-leg-leg starts in the first knockout draw of European football since the quarter-finals of 1982/83.

Bailey returned to Belgium with a goal when the former Genk player produced a lush half-volley after only two minutes and 15 seconds after a heading by Tyrone Mings.

It was a satisfactory moment for Mings after the English defender gave away an unnecessary penalty for handball when these pages met in the group phase in November, which meant that Club Brugge scored the only goal of the game.

But the leadership of Villa only took 10 minutes, with Maxim de Cuyper being derived with a low finish, shortly after Marcus Rashford was rejected by the former goalkeeper of Liverpool, Simon Mignolet.

In a close and tense competition, the captain Hans Vanaken, in the 69th minute, was excruciatingly close to the fact that the ex-norwich player Christos Tzolis wasted another great chance and delivered it from eight meters.

However, the villa scored two late goals in six minutes to achieve a nice lead to Birmingham

Brandon Mechele placed his own goalkeeper in the 82nd minute while stretching to catch a cross from Morgan Rogers to put the villa in the lead and then replace Marco Asensio, which was 3-1 from the penalty point after Matty Cash was fouled.

The backbone will take place on Wednesday, March 12th (8:00 p.m. GMT) in Villa Park.
