Large fire tears home, spreads out to the second house in Syracus

Syracuse, NY – a big fire torn through a house on Wednesday morning and spread out in another house in Syracus.

At 9:15 a.m., firefighters in Syrakus watered water on the houses in the Bellevue Avenue near the South Geddes. Rauch was seen in the city for miles.

The fire was called at 8:47 a.m.

Firefighters pulled out of fire about 10 minutes after their arrival from the outside of the first house.

One person was helped from the burning house in a wheelchair ramp, said Captain Phillip Vogt, spokesman for the Syrakus fire brigade.

The roof collapsed in the first house at 9:09 a.m.

Three ambulances were called to the scene.

Four adults and four children were driven out by the fire. The American Red Cross is on site.

The fire started in the 1148-50 Bellevue Ave. And spread to the Bellevue Ave. 1152.
