Suspicious dead after the officer was shot in Fairfield Glade

Cumberland County, Tenn. (WDEF)-A fatal shootout that was involved in Fairfield Glade on Tuesday afternoon is examined by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. CT, while law enforcement officers were looking for a suspect who was connected to a domestic incident.

An official from the Fairfield Glade police authority hired the suspect's vehicle and tried a traffic disability.

The driver refused to fulfill and asked the officials to initiate persecution.

According to the TBI, the chase ended when the driver drove into a gravel driveway on Peavine Road.

He left his vehicle with a pistol.

The suspect shot the officer and hit the windshield of the patrol car.

After shooting, he appeared on foot on the officer.

The official returned the fire and fatally beat the suspect.

The authorities later identified the suspect as a 42-year-old Jody Tollet.

No officials were injured during the incident.
