Florida sends the team to South Carolina to support Battle forest fires

“If a neighbor is in need, Florida will always answer the call for help,” said Florida Commissioner Wilton Simpson in a statement.

St. Petersburg, Florida – According to Florida Commissioner Wilton Simpson, the Florida Forest Service sends dozens of its workers to South Carolina to fight ongoing forest fires.

Forest fires broke out in North and South Carolina at the weekend and forced several residents to evacuate at that time. On Sunday, 175 fires were reported in South Carolina, but this number has dropped considerably because the crews continue to work on containing the blazes.

From Wednesday morning, around 70 forest fire incidents were registered in the state – many of which were included. The largest of them in the Carolina Forest Area near Myrtle Beach has spread around 2,000 acres and is 30%.

Around 35 employees of the Florida Complex Incident Management Team (Cimt), which specializes in the management of large and complex forest fires, was used to combat the forest fires and protect the community.

“If a neighbor is in need, Florida will always answer the call to help,” said Simpson in an explanation.
