Strade bianche 2025 start times and how to watch

The STRADE -Bianche may have a short story compared to some of the events in the UCI wheel sports calendar, but the annual hike through the Tuscany region of Italy continues to grow into prestige.

The event, which took place for the first time in 2007, is now significant enough to attract the attention of some of the top drivers of sport, including the sensation Tadej Pogacar from Slovenia, which will return in 2025 to add another milestone.

When Pogacar and his competitors reached the starting line in Italy on Saturday, he will be the second driver who wins three times, as well as the first to win in two years.

Pogacar, a three -time winner of the famous Tour de France, won the one -day Strade Bianche in 2022 and 2024.

Poland Michal Kwiatkowski also won the race twice (2014, 2017) and is said to be one of the seven Ineos Grenadiers drivers at the 2024 event.

The journey through Siena this year will include 213 kilometers and the drivers lead through many sectors challenging gravel, along with some climbing that will definitely test them.

The Herrenfeld comprises 25 teams (18 UCI World teams and seven UCI -Pro teams), with seven drivers each.

The other competitors include the 2023 champion Tom Pidcock from Great Britain, Mikel Landa (Spain), Richard Carapaz (Ecuador), David Gaudu (France), Magnus Cort (Denmark) and Marc Hirschi (Switzerland).

And like the tradition since 2015 there will be a women's version of The Strade Bianche who will take it on a 136-kilometer journey full of gravel and climbing-not as much as the field of men.

In the category of women, drivers from 24 teams (15 UCI women -world teams, four UCI -Pro teams and five Italian women's continental teams) are presented.

Two women won the Strade Bianche twice – Annemiek Van Vleuten from the Netherlands (2019, 2020) and defending champion Lotte Kopecky from Belgium (2022, 2024). However, it won't run this year either.

The field will include former champion Elisa Longo Borghini from Italy (2017) and Anna van der Breggen (2018) and the Demi wool of the Netherlands (2023).
