Victor Hugo against Luke Griffith in the big heavyweight game at WNO 27

We have our co-main event for WNO 27, since two of the best heavyweights in the world will drop down in a large matchup. There will be two stars based in Austin in Austin, since six Blades' Victor Hugo in a struggle between two men who are unbeaten on WNO, apply against New Waves Luke Griffith. WNO 27 goes in Round Rock, TX on April 18, under the main event between the ADCC double master Kaynan Duarte and the CJI champion Nick Rodriguez.

Both Victor and Luke had great years in 2024. Victor started strongly with WNO victories against Nick Rodriguez and Javier Zaruski, but then lost the first round at CJI in a big surprise. Luke really appeared as a top candidate on Kaynan Duarte and a run for the ADCC final, but there he lost through the submission after he had won an early victory. Now both men come with a lot to prove and earn a lot with a win. Victor and Luke have never imagined, but this game has built itself for some time, and they almost met with an earlier WNO.

With a large heavyweight matchup in the main event and co-main event there will probably be a lot of shakeup in this division. Gordon Ryan is currently holding the championship belt, but with his currently unknown status it is possible that we have a new number 1 before the end of the year. Whatever happens in Round Rock on April 18 will have great consequences and will really contribute to how heavyweight will change in the next few years.
