Bulldogs play sprint football in Quincy – Republic -Times

Two seniors of the Waterloo High School have undertaken to play a unique sport in college after graduating in spring.

Noah Ehlers and Collin Groves were members of a successful Bulldogs football squad who won 9-2, who won Mississippi Valley conference and had returned to the second round of the IHSA playoffs last autumn.

Both have signed the letters of intent to play at Quincy University Sprint football.

Quincy is one of the founding members of the Midwest Sprint Football League, which has sponsored intercollegiate game since 2022.

Sprint football follows all standards of American football, including 11-opposite 11 games, but a weight limitation for individual players means that this sport emphasizes speed and mobility.

All players have to weigh £ 190 or less.

Sprint football was first played in 1934.
