TSA is preparing for busy Spring Break Travel and offers tips for smooth airport -screening – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sport

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Fla. (WSVN) – During the spring interruption period, traffic safety administration is preparing for an increase in flight and expects the passenger volume by more than 5%from March 6 to 24.

The officers held a press conference on Wednesday afternoon on Wednesday afternoon at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to make tips on navigating security control points smoothly.

Since hundreds are expected to go through the FLL airport during the spring break, the officials ask the passengers to ensure that they place objects in the corresponding luggage, as TSA -screening rules apply.

In addition, officials also warn that travelers should not pack electric tools, heavy machines, real or fake firearms, taser and/or knives. All of this is an attempt to ensure the security of every passenger and prevent delays and long security lines.

“For obvious reasons, we do not want chainsaws, gas drive or electrically, on board an aircraft. Every type of power tool is not approved on board. The one -art passengers can help us keep these waiting times low by ensuring that they do not bring objects such as the security control point, because if we stop and the rules have to go through passengers, it will slow down things and we have to remove these bags according to the forbidden object, ”said TSA Regional Spokesper Mark Howell.

In the event that a passenger packs an illegal object like a firearm, a law enforcement agency is contacted and the person and their firearm away from the control point is removed. The law enforcement authorities then determine how to act according to state and state laws.

For travelers who want to bring alcoholic, TSA limits the amount of alcohol that you can bring your hand luggage bags to 3.4 ounces. Travelers also have the option of buying alcohol after going through safety provision.

“We have exactly here, alcohol bottle. Far beyond the border. 3.4 ounces of boys, ”said TSA agent Ravyn Williams.

A good rule of thumb when packing liquids is the 3-1-1 rule, which enables 3.4 -unzen bottles in an aircraft if they fit into a single, clear, reclaimable bag in quart size. Liquids in containers that are larger than 3.4 ounces must be packed in the tested bags.

If the passengers do not stick to protocols, they will be given the opportunity to hand over the objects to airport officials, put them in a tested back or to give them the person they have taken off so that they can dispose of it.

TSA officials also ask the travelers to prioritize a real ID before the deadline of May 7 to avoid disorders on future trips.

Passengers are recommended to properly pack the wear button, to come early, to wear a valid ID and be patient during screening.
