66-year-old arrested in connection with armed predatory examination | Crimes and dishes

Sparta, Ill. (WSIL) – A man is in prison in connection with an armed robbery attack in Sparta.

The Sparta police authority said that on March 4th at 12:24 p.m. she received a 911 call for an armed robbery in Lollie's restaurant in 1775 N. Market Street in Sparta.

The police said victims were employees with accel entertainment who entertained gambling machines in this shop. These employees described suspicious information to the police. The authorities said that the caller from 911 described that the suspect had a green cloth over his hand and asked a person to build their hands or he would shoot.

The police said this took place in the restaurant's parking lot. The officials quickly set up a scope and searched for a suspect with a K9 officer and a drone.

Randolph County's deputies also collected a surveillance video and pursued the suspect in the Melmar Apartment car park for a Ford F150.

The Sparta police said that the suspect was identified as William Lawless, 66 by Sparta, and later found in his house in Sparta and took it in custody. The officials also searched his property and said they found evidence.

Lawless was quoted with armed robbery and taken to Randolph County prison.
