Los Angeles County entered a lawsuit against Socal Edison about Eaton Fire; Cities of Pasadena and Sierra Madre also sue SCE

Los Angeles (KABC) – Los Angeles County submitted a lawsuit against South California Edison on Wednesday, in the hope of recovering the Eaton Fire.

The lawsuit was submitted against SCE and Edison International (SCE) and claims that the equipment of SCE caused the fatal fire, which had to incur the “massive costs for fire and its consequences”.

The cities of Pasadena and Sierra Madre also enter complaints against SCE to “damage to taxpayers' resources and public infrastructures that arise from the fire”.

The Eaton Fire burned more than 14,000 acres, destroyed more than 9,000 structures and led to 17 deaths.

The lawsuit in La County claims that the Eaton Fire “has massively influenced the natural resources of the district, threatened the environment and the wildlife and public health”.

This is a developing story. This article will continue to be updated when further information is available.
