Seahawks publish Tyler Lockett and accept the trade request from DK Metcalf

Only one morning the Seattle Seahawks will start their 2025 nine season of two long-term pillars in their passing game.

Reports have shown that the Seahawks published the broad recipient Tyler Lockett before the new year and approved the trade request from DK Metcalf. Both transactions occurred within a period of less than an hour and accelerated a half -resolution offense for the crime under the head coach in the second year, Mike MacDonald.

Lockett's publication from the team was always imminent in the last seasons. In his 10th and last year with Seattle, the 32-year-old career deep received in Fängen (49), received Yards (600) and had his second lowest yards per game (35.3).

The outstanding state of Kansas ended his decorated term with the Seahawks as one of her most successful broad recipients. According to Hall of Famer Steve Largent, he stands in his career that gets meters (8,594) and receives touchdowns (61) and receptions (661) with the franchise.

Metcalf is a different story.

At the age of 27, the two-time Pro-Bowler is in the heyday of his career and drove over $ 72 million into the last year of his three-year contract. Since the team only missed the playoffs last year and another individual payment day that emerges, the time for Metcalf was of crucial importance.

Seattle is in the middle of a squad rate to put itself in a cheap salary limit. With a potential geno Smith extension of the contract in the pipeline, Seattle was stretched a little too thin to add the threatening contract expansion of MetCalf to her books.

Last year there was an injury -stretched campaign for the earlier selection of the second round. He missed two games for the first time in his career due to an MCL resource and had only 108 destinations that were his lowest since his rookie year.

Metcalf is now back on the market and has the desire to be paid for and compete with a title candidate. Conflicts reports spoke about the Green Bay Packers who have interests to Metcalf, while Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan and Doug Kyed said that the New England Patriots had “stepped” in a potential Metcalf trade.
