Published players Patriots should try to sign – NBC Sports Boston

Many NFL players are published at this time of year because the teams are trying to take steps to open the salary limit when the start of the free agency approaches.

This year is no exception.

We have seen a few good players in the past few days, some of whom could have a significant impact on their next teams.

Here is a look at recently cut players who could make sense for the patriots in the free agency.

Davante Adams, WR

2024 statistics: 85 receptions, 1,063 yards, eight td (in 14 games)

Adams is still a very productive receiver. He was traded by the Raiders in October and ended 67 receptions for 864 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games for New York. Adams is no longer a top five-widout, but for most teams it would still be a significant addition. It is very consistent, which shows the fact that he has no less than 85 receptions, 1,000 yards or eight touchdowns since 2019.

Christian Kirk, WR

2024 statistics: 27 receptions, 379 yards, a TD (in eight games)

Kirk had a breakout season for the Jaguar in 2022 when he achieved career height with 84 catches, 1.108 yards and eight touchdowns. Unfortunately for Kirk, injuries have restricted its effectiveness in the past two years. In week 8, a broken collarbone suffered from his 2024 season early.

When Kirk is healthy, Kirk has the ability to be a good number 2 for a team like the patriots, and he is still 28 years old.

Tyler Lockett, WR

2024 statistics: 49 receptions, 600 yards, two TD (in 16 games)

Lockett has been a reliable passcatcher in Seattle for a decade. He achieved four seasons of 1,000 yards and at least five touchdowns seven years. When a clutch game was played on the third or late game, he was always someone with Seahawk's quarters back. Lockett is also a great leader. His experienced experience would be great for the Patriots cover room and gives the team of the team a great mentor.

George Fant, OT

If the patriots are looking for an insulting depth, Fant would not be a bad option. Last season, he limited him injuries to just two games with the Seahawks, but in 2023 he played in 16 games (13 starts) for the Houston Texans and started only three punishments all year round.

Fant has started 75 games since his Pro -Debüt in 2016 and he has experience with playing left and right. If he is healthy, he would be a solid addition as a backup tackle, which can take some starts if necessary.

Javon Hargrave, DT

2024 statistics: Seven tackles, a sack in three games

It sounds like the 49ers are published by Hargrave with a name after June 1st.

Hargrave played fantastic for the Eagles in 2022 and signed a four-year contract with the 49s over $ 84 million in the following low season. Hargrave scored a total of 44 duels and seven sacks in 16 games for the 49s in 2023. San Francisco reached the Super Bowl this year, but lost to the chiefs.

Hargrave missed all games for a triceps injury last season. If it is healthy, Hargave can still be an effective defensive tackle. He is fast and he is powerful. His passport -rushing ability is something special. It would be a strong upgrade for every team that has to strengthen his front seven. And the patriots definitely have to improve this defense area after they were last completed in the league with 28 sacks in 2024.
